Items & Trade

Items Overview

  • Items include weapons, armor, clothing, horses, food, trade goods, and more.
  • Most items are carried in a party's inventory and contribute to total weight and encumbrance.
  • Horses and pack animals can increase your carry capacity and movement speed.

Item Sources

  • Most equipment is found in towns based on culture.
    • For example: Northern gear is found in northern towns, Valyrian items in Valyrian towns.
  • White Walker gear is tied to the Others culture.
  • Some White Walker weapons may need to be crafted.

Valyrian Steel & Unique Weapons

  • Unique weapons can be obtained from Lords and Ladies through a special dialogue option after capturing them.
  • Valyrian steel weapons are sometimes available in town shops.
  • Note: These weapons do not do extra damage to White Walkers.

Trading Goods

Trade goods include:

  • Fish
  • Grain
  • Dates
  • Grapes
  • Beer
  • Butter
  • Cheese

Trade goods are used for:

  • Feeding your party
  • Selling for profit
  • Increasing morale (food variety bonuses)

Making Money (Early Game)

Combat-Based Methods

  • Fight looters and bandits for loot and ransom.
  • Horse-archery is especially effective.
  • Avoid Steppe Bandits early on due to their speed and ranged attacks.

Quest-Based Methods

  • Do beginner quests like “Missing Daughter.”
  • Taking the daughter by force temporarily adds her to your clan — allowing you to take her gear.

Raider Route

  • Raid villages for quick money and resources.
  • Villages usually have 20–30 militia with weak armor and no cavalry.
  • Caravans are more difficult, but provide good loot with a strong enough army.

Peaceful Methods

  • Buy workshops in major settlements.
  • Profit depends on local production (e.g. grain → brewery).
  • Works well as passive income.

Storing Items

  • Items can be stored in:
    • Your personal chest (found in the keep of owned castles/towns)
    • Workshop warehouses (if you own one)
