With version 1.2, TaleWorlds added a kingdom destruction mechanic to the game. Normally, clans would disappear if their kingdom was destroyed and they did not join another kingdom within 4 weeks.
Realm of Thrones includes custom code that changes this behavior: Instead of disappearing, the affected clans remain in the game and stay at war with the kingdom that destroyed their original one.
If the player has their own kingdom, they can recruit these clans under the following conditions:
- The cost to recruit is 50,000 gold per clan level.
- If the player’s relation with the clan is below 50, the clan will not join.
- If the relation is 50–89, the clan can be recruited for 50K per level.
- If the relation is 90 or higher, the clan will join for free.
