MCM Settings
Realm of Thrones has some unique features and gameplay elements. For some of those, the player can adjust settings via the mod Mod Configuration Menu (MCM). The following section outlines every configurable setting RoT provides.
My Little Warband Compatibility
My Little Warband is a mod that allows players to create their own troop trees. Normally, only the player can recruit these troops, but with the compatibility options, you can allow either your clan members or your entire kingdom to recruit them.
Note: Realm of Thrones includes code that restricts lords to recruiting troops of their own culture, so this may not always work as expected.
Custom War Mechanics & Static Wars
General Settings
These settings control various lore-based and balance-oriented war behaviors.
- Kings Protect Night's Watch:
- If enabled, all Westerosi kingdoms will declare war on the player if they attack the Night's Watch.
- Night's Watch May Not War:
- Prevents the Night's Watch from declaring war.
- Free Folk May Not War:
- Prevents the Free Folk from declaring war.
Custom Party AI
These settings influence how the Free Folk and Night’s Watch behave. If enabled, Free Folk will focus on raiding villages, and the Night’s Watch will prioritize patrolling and defense.
Static Wars
Static Wars simulate lore-accurate conflicts between kingdoms. If a box is checked, the two kingdoms will always be at war until one is destroyed.
Note: If you disable Static Wars mid-playthrough, the affected kingdoms will likely enter a long peace period.
Duels
With the integration of Moloch's Duels, you can challenge lords to personal combat — whether to avoid bloodshed or to settle scores. This setting defines how large the clan tier gap can be before a lord refuses to duel you.
Ravens
Ravens are a lore-friendly alternative to Diplomacy’s messenger system. By default, you can only send ravens to characters you’ve met or are likely to know. These rules can be relaxed in this section.
Dragons
Adjust various aspects of dragon behavior:
- Max HP
- Knockout vs kill effect
- Friendly fire toggle
RBM Integration
If you're using Realistic Battle Mod (RBM), you must enable this setting to activate RBM-specific balancing and compatibility for Realm of Thrones.
MCM Options for The Others
Configure how the White Walkers behave once their invasion begins:
- Invasion: Toggle whether The Others will cross the Wall and invade Westeros.
- Raiding: Enable/disable their ability to raid villages.
- (Disabling this severely limits their troop recruitment.)
- Sieging: Allow or prevent The Others from besieging castles and towns.
- (Disabling this effectively blocks their invasion.)
- AI Shackles: Add constraints to their behavior for balance, including:
- Troop surplus required for sieges
- Settlement siege cooldown
- The Hardhome event on Day 500
- Necromancy Multiplier: Adjust how quickly The Others raise the dead to reinforce their armies.
- Party Size Limit Growth: Control how fast undead army sizes scale over time.
- Night King Can Die From Game Start: Decide if the Night King can be killed from the beginning, or only after capturing all northern settlements.
